Sirius Corporation, a European Open Source services group, announced today that it is to deploy and manage a new datacentre for TLC Marketing plc, the world's largest sales promotion and incentives agency.
As part of their integrated marketing services, TLC develops hundreds of campaign-focused websites every year for its major international clients including Sony Ericcson, Samsung and Pizza Hut. By outsourcing the management of this web services infrastructure to Sirius, TLC plan to transform their development team into a profit centre.
The contract covers all aspects of technical support for the LAMP and LAPP stacks (Linux, Apache, MySQL / PostgreSQL and PHP) including software maintenance.
Richard Gilbert, Head of IT, TLC Marketing said: "Campaign-focused websites are an increasingly important part of what we do for our clients.
"We run hundreds of high-traffic sites concurrently and outsourcing the deployment and management of our new datacentre to Sirius will add even more value to our service portfolio."
Mark Taylor, CEO, Sirius Corporation said: "Open Source technologies drive the Internet and provide the most robust, secure and scalable platform for web services.
"By outsourcing technical services to experts, an enterprise can get all of the benefits of Open Source without the overhead of specialist recruitment."
